BRECKENRIDGE - Ava Lou Hancock, 70, of Breckenridge died Tuesday, May 14, 2013, in an Abilene hospital. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today, May 22, at Lakeside Baptist Church, 108 CR 221, with pastor David Draper officiating and pastor Billy Sellers, assisting under the direction of Bailey Howard Funeral Home in Clyde.
Mrs. Hancock was born April 11, 1943 in Matador, to Giles T. and Lou Ethel (Hardin) Pierce. She attended school at Three Way and Morton High School.
She married Herschel Hancock in Morton on July 11, 1959.
They moved to Breckenridge from Abilene in 1997. Mrs. Hancock was a homemaker and a Baptist.
Mrs. Hancock is survived by her husband, Herschel of Breckenridge; two sons: Steve Hancock and wife Carla of Iowa Park and Kerry Hancock and wife Brenda of Rainbow; friend, Claudette Prusinski of Abilene; one brother, Curtis Pierce and wife Linda of Lubbock; one sister, Leta Crites and husband Gene of Lubbock; three grandchildren: Angela Winkler and husband Gary, Brent Hancock and wife Hannah and Blake Hancock and one great grandchild Kolby Winkler.
She was preceded in death by one son, Russell Hancock and one brother, Dennis Pierce.
