Breckenridge and Woodson each had plenty of fun and games for the crowds at their respective July 4th celebrations. Breckenridge's event on Wednesday featured bands TC Fambro and the Copperheads and August and J. Several food booths were on hand and the crowd was mesmerized by a spectacular fireworks display.
On Thursday, Woodson's 13th annual July 4th Blowout and Celebration went more of the local variety, featuring area bands the Clear Fork Country Band, Twisted Country and members of the Hodges band. Also, Albany's Lorna Ayers was on hand to sing a few selections from the "Always Patsy Cline" show, that is scheduled to kick off in August. The event wrapped up with a fireworks display.
"I Love This Land" was featured Thursday in the Breckenridge City Park, which featured the Breckenridge Community Choir and Band. Recognition of the servicemen, past and present, were conducted during the event.
