Opal Michael, age 82 of Breckenridge, passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at her residence. Graveside funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, July 6th at Hart Cemetery with Rev. Leo Brooks officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Visitation will be held from 6 to 7 p.m., Friday, July 5th at Morehart Mortuary.
Opal Fay Lancaster was born May 25, 1931, in Eastland County, Texas to parents, J.E. Lancaster and Bessie Turnbow Lancaster. She married Lee Michael on January 2, 1952 in Graham. Opal was a housewife and she enjoyed being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, talking on the phone, and playing ball. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, four brothers, two sisters, one son, and one grandson.
Opal is survived by her son, Ervin Michael of Breckenridge; two daughters, Janet Johnson and husband Dennis of Breckenridge, Betty McDonald and husband Buddy of Breckenridge; a daughter-in-law, Diane Michael of Cisco; six grandchildren, Johnny Michael and wife Tina of Burleson, Sam Blackman and wife Brittany and Raymond McDonald all of Breckenridge, Lorena Michael, Jamie Michael, Angie Cheek and husband Curtis all of Cisco; five great-grandchildren, Danielle and Grace Cheek of Cisco, James, Eli, and Elise Michael of Burleson; and one sister, Bessie Atchley of Bowie.
