The Breckeridge Buckaroo Cross Country teams have a rich tradition of excellence and high expectations each season.
Over the last 13 years under head coach Kim Dieterich, the teams have won district several championships and have made it to regionals and state several times as well.
This year should be no different for coach Dieterich's teams.
The Buckaroos have  strong participation numbers with nearly 30 athletes running cross country.
“Our numbers have been great,” said Dieterich. “We have around 30 kids running with around 19 of those being girls and 14 boys. We have had 20 plus kids in the past but this year is the highest its ever been.
Those are really good numbers, especially at the 2A level. It's hard to get that many kids to participate at the smaller level schools because so many kids are participating in other fall sports.”
“We have always had a good tradition in cross country,” said Dieterich. “Most of the years that I have been in Breckenridge, we have advanced to regionals almost every single year and have been to the state meet several years as well.”
