The Buckaroo JV White team was defeated by Sweetwater 26-12 on Thursday night at Buckaroo Stadium.
Coach Rob Ogle said he was proud of the way the team competed and how much they have improved.
“The kids competed really well,” said Ogle. “A couple of big plays by Sweetwater in the first half were the difference in the game.”
“We played even ball with them in the second half and I am very proud of their effort,” said Ogle. “We have improved a lot in a week.”
Sweetwater scored on the first play of the game with a 57-yard run to take an early 6-0 lead and scored again with 4:19 to play in the second quarter to take a 12-0 halftime lead.
The Mustangs scored four more times with a 22-yard pass, a 52-yard run, 43-yard pass and a 62 yard pass.
The Bucks scored on a 43-yard run by David Howeth and a 40-yard touchdown pass from Ryan Robertson to Hunter Wimberley.
The JV Green was defeated by Sweetwater 20-7.
“We need to play better to win ball games against better teams,” said coach Pete Medlock. “We suffered a few dings and bangs that forced a few guys out of position and some play calling a little tough. “We had a few good drives that stalled out due to mistakes and “bad rolls”.
