Playing in front of a standing-room only crowd in Bryson and a trip to the Region 1-2A tournament on the line, the Breckenridge Lady Buckaroos saw their season come to an end as they fell to the Henrietta Lady Cats in three sets, 25-16, 25-15, 25-23.
The Lady Buckaroos found themselves trailing 13-9 in the final set, but came back to tie the set at 16-16 behind a pair of Lady Cat errors.
The two teams traded points for the remainder of the final set as there were four ties to close out the set.
“In the third set, we were in it and were inches from pulling it out and forcing a fourth set,” said Lady Buckaroo head coach Victoria Dudgeon. “I think if we had a couple of balls dropped in or we would have dug more balls, this match may have had a different ending.”
