The Open Door in Breckenridge opened its doors on Jan. 22.
The official Breckenridge Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting took place Tuesday with a wealth of local and area business owners welcoming the new center to the community.
The Open Door, located at 1701 W. Walker, sports a variety of individual classes for youth, women and men. The new center has resources for the whole family.
There is Confidential Support, Individual Counseling, and Referrals to Resources in the Community, Sexual Integrity Classes, Pregnancy Testing, and Information on all Options, Pregnancy Classes, Parenting Classes and Material Assistance.
The Open Door will also host Bible Study classes.
The Open Door's hours of operation are 12 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, and 8 a.m. to noon Friday and Saturday.
The Open Door has a Spanish speaking client advocate at this center on Tuesdays 12-8 p.m., Thursdays 10-5 and Fridays 8-12.
The mission statement for the newly-opened center is "The Open Door is a faith-based, life affirming pregnancy and family center that provides resources, mentoring and education for life skills."
Nakita McBride is the Executive Director of The Open Door.
Breckenridge resident Rachelle Walters is the Assistant Director.
Jeanie Gann, also a local resident, is a Client Advocate for the center.
Other staff includes Nurse Manager Coralie Goines, R.N. and Bilingual Resource Assistant Martha Fisher.
