The low lake levels at Hubbard Creek Lake has provided a few areas of concern for the West Central Texas Municipal Water District (WCTMWD).
WCTMWD General Manager Chris Wingert said the low areas of the lake provide hazards for boaters and fishermen. “Many areas of the lake have become a safety concern,” Wingert said. “WCTMWD discourages any public use, such at ATVs because the area still contains hazards from soft soils and old creek washes.” Wingert said violators will be subject to fines along with citations from the local Game Warden for trespassing. WCTMWD owns all property associated with Hubbard Creek Lake.
“There's just a lot of high risks,” Wingert said. “Lake lot owners have access to the front of their property. But the public needs to curb their public access.”
