Stephens Memorial Hospital has found its next administrator.
Matt Kempton has been named the new administrator of Stephens Memorial Hospital and will start his duties Monday, April 14.
Kempton was hired through a residency program after his graduation from Texas A&M University's rural-based healthcare program.
He received his Master's degree in Healthcare Administration in 2012. Kempton is married with two young children.
He has served as a grant writer for four rural hospitals in south Texas and had his internship at a Uvalde hospital.
“His strong point is being involved in rural health care and he's familiar with the functions of a rural hospital,” interim administrator Ernie Parisi said. “Matt will bring a lot of skills to our hospital and we're excited to have him be a part of Breckenridge.”
Parisi said he will stay on with SMH in an administrative capacity with the hospital to assist Kempton in his transition.
