Charles Jackson, 66, died about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, after the back passenger's side tire blew out on his 1998 Ford F-250, causing the pickup to go into a side skid and roll several times, according to a Texas Department of Public Safety report.
Jackson had been eastbound on U.S. Highway 60 about three miles east of Bovina, DPS said.
The truck rolled across the westbound lanes of the highway and DPS said the pickup ended up facing west in the barrow ditch next to the northbound lanes.
DPS said Jackson was wearing his seat belt, and no other people or vehicles were involved in the accident.
Jackson, who lived in Clyde, was the manager of the Lawrence Brothers grocery store in Breckenridge.
He leaves behind one son and three grandchildren.
