Elliott Street Church of Christ minister Don Nelson recently helped cut the ribbon on a new church building in March in Papua, New Guinea.
Nelson helped make a makeshift worship shelter back in 1986 for the 70 church members.
However, the church membership increased to 140 and, in 2007, decided to build a permanent structure.
After more than seven years, Nelson and Morobe government official Charlie Folke helped cut the ribbon on the new permanent building.
On hand to witness the ribbon cutting was Nelson's wife Sherri, along with Colleen Dyroff and Karen Wolfe of Breckenridge.
