Stephens County Commissioners filed the 2014 property values at their regular meeting July 28, at the Stephens County Courthouse.
The group filed the 2014 certified taxable values for Stephens County at $801,951,667 for 2014. The 2014 amount is down $11,956,985 from the 2013 taxable values ($813,908,652).
“The values just depend on the time of year,” said Stephens County Judge Gary Fuller. “Our property values are driven mainly by oil values.”
Stephens County Treasurer Sharon Trigg reported the county retained a closing cash balance of $3,348,404 through June 2014, with revenues of $201,794 and expenses of $622,470.
In other business:
• The group approved a application for Erric Brennan to develop on CR 317;
• The group approved the submittal of James Marrs to the Appraisal District Board of Directors as a replacement for Skip Griffith.
The Stephens County Commissioners meet on the second and fourth Monday of every month at the Stephens County Courthouse.
The next regular meeting is scheduled for 9 a.m. Monday, Aug. 11, at the Stephens County Courthouse.
