Tommy Tosh, Sr., age 88 of Breckenridge, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013 at Villa Haven Health and Rehabilitation Center.
A memorial service was Friday, Sept. 27, at Morehart Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Jerry Eckhart and Rev. Tyler Looper officiating.
Tommy Leon Tosh was born Jan. 19, 1925, to parents, Nathaniel Jackson Tosh and Eva Brown Tosh in Lueders.
The Tosh family moved to Stephens County in 1938 and he later graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1942.
Following graduation, Mr. Tosh enlisted in the United States Navy until his honorable discharge in 1946.
He married Dorothy Keith on May 18, 1946 in Eastland.
Mr. Tosh worked for Warren Petroleum, which was later purchased by Chevron, and retired after 27 years of service.
Mr. Tosh was a member of First Baptist Church in Eolian and also a member of the Breckenridge Country Club where he enjoyed playing golf.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Wallace Tosh and Jack Tosh, Jr.
Mr. Tosh is survived by his wife of 67 years, Dorothy Tosh of Breckenridge; three sons: Tommy Tosh, Jr. and wife Belinda of Apache, Okla., Marty Tosh and wife Nelda of Houston, Jack Tosh and wife Julie of Bedford; one daughter, Peggy Langford and husband Greg of Breckenridge; 10 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and one nephew, retired Lieutenant Colonel Gene Tosh.
