Margaret Howell, age 89 of Arlington, passed away Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013.
Graveside funeral services will be at 10 a.m., today, Jan. 1, with Rev. David Jenkins officiating.
Interment will follow under the direction of Morehart Mortuary.
Margaret Louise Blythe was born March 10, 1924, in Eastland, to parents, Thomas Shelby Blythe and Allie Corene Hammett Blythe.
She grew up in Eastland and married Coy Rex Howell on Nov. 18, 1940 in Strawn. Mrs. Howell graduated from Eastland High School in 1941.
She worked for the Texas Department of Public Safety until she retired in December of 1986.
Mrs. Howell was a member of First Baptist Church of Breckenridge, Lake Arlington Baptist Church, Women's Forum and the Stephens Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Coy Rex Howell; parents, Thomas and Allie Blythe; one son, Terry Ray Howell; one sister, Barbara Canterbury; one niece, Catherine Davies.
Mrs. Howell is survived by one son, Randal Lyn Howell and wife Trudy Maurer Howell of San Francisco, Calif.; two grandsons: Mark Randal Howell and wife Melissa of Austin, Trent Atkins Howell and wife Denise of Santa Fe, N.M.; four great-grandchildren: Graham Howell, Evan Howell, Lane Howell, Benjamin Howell; one nephew in-law, John Davies of Arlington; two nephews, Gary Canterbury, Rusty Canterbury, both of Houston and two great friends, Tom and Sandi Young.
