Beatrice Bridges Palmer, age 89 of Breckenridge, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, February 2, 2014. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, February 5th at the Breckenridge Cemetery with Rev. Charles West officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Morehart Mortuary.
Elva Beatrice Bridges was born February 27, 1924 in Carbon, Texas to parents Herman Taylor Bridges and Lillie Florence Bridges. She married Omer William Palmer on September 22, 1942. Mrs. Palmer was an animal lover and enjoyed going to garage sales. She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church, where she was a member of Martha's Sunday School class. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Omer in 2004. Also preceding her in death were her parents; one brother, H.T. Bridges; two sisters, Helen Meeks and Pauline Broyles; and one brother-in-law, Al Meeks.
Mrs. Palmer is survived by her son, Kenny Palmer of Breckenridge; her daughter, Janice Nix and husband Tommy of Graham; three grandchildren, Harley Palmer and wife Amy of Center Point, Kyle Palmer and wife Danna of Breckenridge, Chad Nix of Graham; five great grandchildren, Emily Palmer, Payton Palmer, both of Center Point, Kelsey Palmer, Kylee Palmer, and Kamryn Palmer, all of Breckenridge; several special nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Doris Bridges, of Abilene.
