Johnny Diaz, age 47 of Breckenridge, died Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at his residence. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, February 8th, at the Morehart Mortuary Chapel with Deacon Ruben Castaneda officiating.
Juanito Mendez Diaz was born on April 25, 1966, in Breckenridge, Texas, to parents, Juan Diaz and Mary Mendez Diaz. He grew up in Breckenridge and graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1984. He married Trudy Chaney on February 15, 1985 in Breckenridge. Johnny had worked as a welder for over 20 years and was employed at Reinforced Earth Company at the time of his passing. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and enjoyed shooting pool. He was a loving father, grandfather and uncle. Johnny was preceded in death by his father, Juan Diaz Sr., and his brother, Adam Diaz.
Johnny is survived by his wife, Trudy Diaz of Fort Worth; mother, Mary Diaz of Breckenridge; his sons, David Diaz, Devin Diaz and wife Jasmine, both of Breckenridge; two granddaughters, Emma Diaz and Lilly Diaz; one brother, Mark Diaz of Breckenridge; one sister, Jessica Ewing of Wichita Falls and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews.
