He started his career at 16 years-old working for Safeway where he started as a sacker and worked his way up to manager. He has spent the last many years working for Lawrence Brothers Supermarkets as a unit director. He had a work ethic that was unmatched. Whether visiting with customers, working with the Lions Club or cheering on the Bulldogs, Charlie loved being involved in the community.
He equally enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and would drive all over to watch them in school activities. Charlie and his wife Linda spent 44 years together. He was devoted to her in good times and bad, in sickness and health, until her passing in 2012. He loved his family, friends and extended family deeply, and he will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his Wife Linda, Parents Andrew and Maggie Jackson; Sisters Nita Foreman, Evelyn Williams, Dorothy Harvey; Brothers Albert Brashear and Jimmie Brashear
Survivors include: son, Brian Jackson and wife Kristi of Lubbock; sisters: Jerry Casey of Covington, La., Norma Duke of Odessa, Barbara Masey of Wichita Falls.
; brother, Bobby Brashear of Clyde; grandchildren: Zach, Abbie and Preston Jackson of Lubbock; and his loving canine companion Kelso.
Services were scheduled for Saturday, April 12, at Sunset Memorial Chapel with Jerry Huggins officiating. Burial followed at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
