Barbara Pierce

Barbara Pierce, age 79 of Breckenridge, passed away Saturday, March 6, 2021. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 9 at Morehart Mortuary chapel with the Reverend Michael Roach officiating. Interment followed in the Breckenridge Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary. Visitation was held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, March 8 at Morehart Mortuary.

Exa Fay Hooten

Exa Fay Hooten was born at home in Floydada, Texas to Maude Latham Hooten and Richard W. Hooten on Aug. 27, 1928. She was the oldest of Tom and Lula (Brady) Latham’s many grandchildren and she felt a strong need to set an example for her cousins. She was a lifetime member of the Church of Christ and lived at Christian Village in Abilene throughout its tenure as a retirement facility.

Shirley Forrest,

Shirley Forrest, age 83 of Woodson, passed away Thursday, Feb. 11, 2021. A graveside service was held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 20 in the Woodson Cemetery with the Reverend Charles West officiating. Interment followed under the direction of Morehart Mortuary.

Fay Hope Parks

Fay Hope Parks, age 98, passed away in Ohio on Monday, Feb. 8, 2021. Her funeral service will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 17, in the Chapel of Memories at Melton-Kitchens Funeral Home. The family will have a 30-minute visitation beginning at 1 p.m. the day of the service. Her interment will be at the Necessity Cemetery following the funeral service.

Van Eldon Brimhall

Van Eldon Brimhall passed away suddenly at his home on Friday, Feb. 5, 2021, at the age of 92. “Doc,” as he preferred to be called, was born in Jacksboro, Texas on Nov. 29, 1928. Upon his passing, he was returned to the town of his birth to lie in rest beside his beloved mother.
