Despite a 21-point performance from junior guard Hanna Singleton, the Lady Bucks fell to Eastland 45-39 on Tuesday.
The Lady Bucks took a 19-14 lead into the halftime break but were unable to maintain the advantage in the second half.
"I'm very proud of the girls effort tonight," Lady Bucks coach Ky Graham said. "We rebounded the ball much better and had a great first quarter. We just have to be more consistent. Hanna had a great game. We've got to get her more help."
Breckenridge led by as many as 11 points in the first half.
Freshman Madison Hatchett gave the Lady Bucks a 19-8 lead midway through the second quarter. Eastland closed out the period on a 6-0 run.
Singleton gave Breckenridge a 28-25 lead late in the third quarter.
The Lady Mavs claimed a 32-28 advantage behind seven-straight points from Eastland sophomore Mattie Moylan.
Singleton hit six-straight free throws to give the Lady Bucks a 36-34 edge with five minutes remaining in the game.
Eastland responded with three consecutive baskets to claim a 40-36 lead they would never lose.
Lady Bucks junior post Megan Herrington chipped in five points. Hatchett finished with four points while junior Landre Griffin added three.
Sophomore Heidi O'Dell and freshman Alexa Medina each scored two points.
Singleton grabbed a team-leading eight rebounds.
Senior Ashly Fambro pulled down six rebounds.
Herrington, O'Dell and Hatchett each had four rebounds.
Sophomore Nocona Swindell and Griffin added two rebounds apiece while freshman Maci Patterson had one rebound.
The Lady Bucks next game is 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, when they travel to Clyde.
