The Breckenridge Buckaroos went into Friday night’s game against the Eastland Mavericks looking to come away with their first District 4-2A win.
The Bucks showed a lot of promise early on, but a 26-point third quarter by Eastland proved to be too much as the Buckaroos were defeated 59-14.
“The kids played really hard tonight to the very end,” said Buckaroo Head Coach Steve Freeman. “We fought for the momentum in the second quarter and felt like we had won it going into the half. We were in a two score ball game and the kids felt good on where they had gotten to.”
“We came out in the third quarter and weren’t really on track and allowed them to get on track and widen the margin,” said Freeman.
