There is nothing more that a team could want in a non-district finale, than to get a win against tough competition and have momentum going into the first district game.
The No. 8 state-ranked Buckaroos can scratch that off their list as they defeated the Bridgeport Bulls 61-46, Friday evening at the BISD Athletic and Fine Arts Facility.
To put the quality of team Bridgeport is in perspective, the Bulls recently defeated Ponder who was ranked No. 1 in 2A.
The Bucks knew they would have a tough  game ahead of them Friday and head coach Rob Ogle was proud of how the team played. 
“I thought our kids really stepped up to the bell and answered the challenge,” said Ogle.

“They (Bridgeport) were a really good ball club that we faced. They were hard to defend, quick off the dribble and shot the ball extremely well.”
“We had some guys step up and play some  big, important minutes and that  is what it’s going to take when we get to district play,” said Ogle. “I was real pleased with the kids effort in the game.
