Two Breckenridge High School football senior athletes were recently selected to the Texas High School Coaches Association (THSCA) Academic All-State team. Clay Boaz was selected to the Academic All-State First Team and Caleb Spoon earned Honorable Mention All-State. "These two young men have represented Breckenridge in a great way on and off the field," said coach Steve Freeman. "This speaks well for our school and our program. This is something to surely be very, very proud of." To be nominated for the award, a player must have an overall grade point average of 92 or above from their freshman year to the cut off date of their senior year. The THSCA considers each student's GPA, class rank, SAT and/or ACT score and the student receive points based on this criteria.
