The Breckenridge Lady Buckaroos rebounded from a tough loss to Eastland on Jan. 21 with a 67-53 road win over the Comanche Maidens Friday night.
A slow start by the Lady Bucks saw the Maidens jump out to a 6-0 lead with just under six minutes to play in the opening quarter and that was a concern for Lady Bucks coach Ky Graham.
“The game did not start well for us at all,” said Graham. “I was thinking this is the same way we have been playing the last couple of the games.”
“Then all of the sudden, bam. We hit a shot and it just turns around,” said Graham. “From there, the girls started playing Lady Buck basketball like we are capable of.

The Lady Bucks tied the score at 8-8 and gained the lead at the 3:10 mark with a two-point basket from Alexa Medina and never looked back from there.
Breckenridge held a 16-9 advantage at the end of the first quarter and Cayli Yarbrough connected on a three-pointer just over 30 seconds into the second quarter to give the Lady Bucks a 10 point lead at 19-9.
