After making their first playoff appearance in four years, the Breckenridge Lady Buckaroos made the best of their opportunity to make a mark in the Lady Bucks record books Wednesday evening at Mineral Wells with a 82-42 dominating win over the Nocona Indians.
The Lady Bucks were scheduled to take on Sonora Friday evening in Winters.
A Breckenridge win would set the stage for a Regional Quarterfinals match-up with the winner of Wall and Wichita Falls City View.
Head Coach Ky Graham credited the win Wednesday night to the defensive pressure and easy baskets  that the Lady Bucks put on Nocona in the early stages of the game.
“I thought we really frustrated Nocona right off the bat with our pressure.

We got some early steals, rebounds and hit some big shots early on in the game,” said Graham. “I have to admit, I just kept coaching away in the early part of the game and looked up and it was 16-5 and thought, wow, we really got off to a great start.”
“I thought the subs came in and played well for us and gave the starters some rest,” said Graham. “With a group of girls that have won a playoff game, you really don’t know what to expect what it is going to be like. I thought the girls responded really well.”
After leading 14-5 midway through the first quarter, the Lady Bucks finished the period with a 14-4 run to lead 28-9.
