Tuesday’s District 7-2A opener against the Cisco Lady Loboes proved to provide an exciting atmosphere in the late stages of the game.
The Lady Buckaroos overcame a 6-0 deficit to come back and defeat Cisco 9-8.
“We fell behind early, but continued to scratch and claw our way back into the game,” said head coach Gary Mayfield. “We finally settled down and started playing our game and I truly believe in these girls and believe that if we play our game, we can go far.”
The Lady Bucks trailed 6-0 heading into the bottom half of the second inning, but started to chip away at the Cisco lead by scoring two runs.
Emma Davis reached base on a single and Tara Maxwell reached first on an error.
Kaylee Roberts hit a single to center field to score Davis and Maxwell  but was tagged out attempting to advance to second for the third out.
The Lady Bucks added one run in the third inning from Arin Knight and three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Taylor Herrington, Brooke Moss and Shelby Lipps all scored one run each for the Lady Bucks.
Breckenridge tied the score at 8-8 in the bottom of the sixth inning with a run from Heather Reatherford and Knight.
After holding Cisco scoreless in the top of the seventh inning, the Lady Bucks were quickly down to their last out with following a strikeout and a fielder’s choice.
Kaitlyn Ellis reached on the fielder’s choice and Roberts would advance Ellis to second.

This set up the game winning hit by Reatherford who doubled to centerfield to score Ellis.
The Lady Bucks will play at 4 p.m., Tuesday, March 11 in Eastland.
