But ultimately it was the Lady Bearcats that came away with the 7-1 win.
The Lady Bucks are now 4-3 in the District 7-2A standings and sit in fourth place behind Hawley, Clyde and Comanche. Breckenridge was one game ahead of Cisco before Friday’s game in Cisco.
The Lady Bucks trailed 2-0 at the end of the first inning following a two-run home run by Hawley’s clean up hitter.
Taylor Herrington hit a single in the top of the fourth inning, but was called out at second base.
Emma Davis would reach base in the fifth inning with a lead-off double, but was stranded on base following three straight outs.
Hawley opened up their lead in the bottom of the sixth inning, scoring three runs.
The Lady Bucks only run came with a sacrifice fly by Shelby Lipps to score Brooke Moss who hit a triple.
Moss led the Lady Bucks by going one-for-three with a triple.
Herrington pitched all six innings and allowed six runs, (two earned) on three hits and had four strikeouts.
The Lady Bucks will play at 5 p.m., Tuesday, April 1 in Breckenridge against Merkel.
