The current featured exhibit at the Breckenridge Fine Arts Center is a “wonderful collection of mixed media, vibrant, creative art” from Filipino artist Ellen Carmona- Kochoa, of Eastland. The name of the exhibit is Introspections: A Collection of Unspoken Poetries and will be on display in the Main Gallery through Saturday, Feb.

Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls released a list of its fall honor students Wednesday, Dec. 21, which included three students from Breckenridge. The list included 1,115 honor students for the Fall 2022 semester.

Breckenridge ISD principals announced their September Students of the Month from each campus during BISD’s regular board meeting Monday, Sept. 19. (Top) McKlane Roberts, a 2nd grade student from East Elementary, was announced by Principal Shannon Deen. (Second) South Elementary Principal Dr. Joshua Holt announced that 3rd grader Bryer Hale was elected as their campus’ SOTM. (Third) From Breckenridge Junior High School, 8th grader Emery Smith was chosen and announced by Principal Laura Gibson. (Fourth) Breckenridge High School’s principal, Paul Armstrong, announced Anson Rogers and Avery Rogers, both 12th graders, as their campus SOTM. (Bottom) BISD’s Teacher of the Month for September is Janet Haigwood, a teacher from the Headstart program.
