Breckenridge Chamber of Commerce 'Denim & Diamonds'

There were laughs, fun and more as the community got together to socialize and raise money for Breckenridge.

The Breckenridge Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual 'Demin & Diamonds' banquet on Nov. 9. The event took place at the Stephens County AG and Community Center, where more than 100 guests from local businesses to community members gathered for a night of good food and great times. 

TSTC Chemical Dependency Counseling Program hosts BBQ fundraiser

A barbecue fundraiser was hosted by the Texas State’s Technical College’s Chemical Dependency Counseling Program Thursday, March 28, to try and raise scholarship money for students of the program.

The CDC’s REACH Club (Real Education on Addiction Can Help) hosted the event. TSTC instructor for the CDC program Ivy Delong said the goal of it, aside from raising money for scholarships, is to teach her students of the program the value of giving back to the community.

BFAC hosts their annual fundraiser

There are wreaths for sale from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, at the Rotary sponsored "Taste of the Holidays" event, at the Popular, located at 103 W. Walker St.

The Rotary will host the tasting segment and the BFAC had their decorated Christmas wreaths and Christmas trees on display throughout the event and they are for sale for their annual fundraiser. The wreaths and trees will be on display at the BFAC after this event.

Come celebrate Evelyn Perry's birthday

The family of Evelyn Perry would like to invite her friends to help her celebrate her 90th birthday on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2018 in the fellowship hall of Bethany Baptist Church from 2 to 4 p.m. Evelyn was born in Hopkins County, TX, Sept. 27, 1928. The oldest of four girls, she was raised on a farm. She graduated from a one room school in Miller Grove in 1946. A little later she went to work for Sears and Roebuck mail order department in Dallas where Herman Harold Perry met his mail order bride who he married March 6,1953.
