A barbecue fundraiser was hosted by the Texas State’s Technical College’s Chemical Dependency Counseling Program Thursday, March 28, to try and raise scholarship money for students of the program.

The CDC’s REACH Club (Real Education on Addiction Can Help) hosted the event. TSTC instructor for the CDC program Ivy Delong said the goal of it, aside from raising money for scholarships, is to teach her students of the program the value of giving back to the community.

“We want to develop those relationships in the community and help out wherever we can and make sure we educate,” Delong said.
