The Stephens County Courthouse is assisting the vulnerable population in the community during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Individuals who are over the age of 65 or have underlying health conditions such as high blood pressure, compromised immune systems, or cancer will have special accommodations to assist during the pandemic and into the future.

“If it’s a severe illness, citizens don’t have to come into the Courthouse,” Stephens County Judge Michael Roach said. “We have a number and citizens can set up an appointment by calling their elected official and we can meet them at the curb near the courthouse.”

The courthouse will also provide vulnerable citizens who are scheduled for court with accommodations.

For more information about specific scheduling contact the district court at b.ford@youngcounty.org or 940-549-0091; the county court at selder@stephenscountytx.gov or 254-559-2190; or the justice court at sspoon@stephenscountytx.gov or 254-559-5322.

Certain businesses are offering specials hours to assist senior citizens of the community. The Stephens County Courthouse – 8-10 a.m. Tuesdays; United Supermarket: 6-9 a.m. Mondays and Fridays; Walmart – 6-7 a.m. Tuesdays; Family Dollar: Everyday at 9 a.m.; and Dollar General: Everyday 8-10 a.m.
