Stephens County Jail provides opportunity for inmates
By
Madalyn Heimann
The Stephen County Jail has more than what meets the eye, their kitchen is operated like any restaurant and is staffed by inmates of Stephens County.
Stephens County Lieutenant, Jim Reynolds, oversees what they call Trustees, a group of three to five male inmates who are tasked with several duties, including preparing meals for all the inmates. Stephens County Sherriff Will Holt and his officers are trying to do the most with what they have financially, being aware that they are tax-payer funded, by using trusted inmates to prepare the food and watching what they buy and serve to the inmates.
