Breckenridge High School received several recognitions last week as it competed in a UIL One Act Play zone level competition Tuesday, Feb. 27 at Graham Memorial Auditorium.
Seven members of the BHS OAP group earned individual recognitions as the cast and crew of the OAP production Mrs. Packard advanced to the district competition.
A pair of local Scouts are looking to leave their mark both in Stephens County and two Breckenridge ISD schools with two projects as the two work towards becoming Eagle Scouts.
Siblings Matthew and Maggie Wunsch are members of local Scouts BSA troops in Breckenridge and hold the rank of life scout. Both are working on their Eagle Scout service projects, a requirement to attain the rank of Eagle Scout.
Community members will have a free opportunity later this month to take part in a genealogy workshop hosted by the Picketville Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas.
Taking place from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24 at St. Paul Methodist Church, community members are invited to get a free look and help with your family tree. The church is located at 1503 E. Elm Street in Breckenridge.

Stephens County 4-H members competed last month at the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo.
Woodson is hosting a city-wide garage sale beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday, June 17. More than 60 families will be participating at nine different locations. Maps are available online and at the Woodson Post Office, located at 105 Hwy. 183 North.
