Ballot filing open for local entities

Graford Independent School District, city of Graford, Strawn ISD and city of Strawn are all accepting applications to be on the ballot for the May 4 election. The deadline to file is 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 15.

Travis Rogers and Jeff Lemley terms for the Graford ISD school board are set to expire. Nobody had applied for the positions on the board as of Monday. Applications can be turned in at the school district located at 400 W. Division St.

The city of Graford will see the city council seats currently held by Alice Sain and Gregory Dunn up for election. There were no applications turned in for the positions as of Monday. Applications can be turned

in at Graford City Hall located at 424 E. Lee Ave.

Strawn ISD has ordered an election for Place 2 on the school board. The seat is currently held by Craig Abbott and he was the only one to have applied for a place on the ballot as of Monday. Applications can be turned in at the school district located at 224 E. Walnut St.

The city of Strawn has ordered an election for the seats currently held by Omar Mallory, Alan Alison and Regina Baker. All three have applied to seek another term as alderperson and were the only three to have done so as of Monday. Applications can be turned in at Strawn City Hall located at 118 Housley St.

If no opponents apply for the ballot then the elections will be called off and the incumbents will be sworn into another term.
