BFAC opens two exhibits

Wed, 09/02/2020 - 5:00 am

The Breckenridge Fine Arts Center opened with three new exhibits. First, it is soon going to be quilt season and the 2020 Quilt Show should get everyone in the right frame of mind to dig out the quilts or work on one of their own that you have been meaning to finish. Of course, none of ours are as colorful or unique as the ones on display in the Main Gallery of the BFAC.

Also, in the Main Gallery is the Porcelain Exhibit by local artist, Cynthia Pinnell.

Then, in the East Gallery is the Doylene Land exhibit of oil paintings with more of the Porcelain exhibit on display. There is a lot to see in our local Fine Arts Center, the BFAC.

Doylene Land stopped by the BFAC and added more information to her background as the previous Exhibits Director for the traveling exhibition, “Spirit Lines: Helen Hardin Etchings,” based out of Santa Fe, N.M. Land also worked at the Ellen Noel Art Museum in Odessa for 16 years as an art instructor and advisor for the development of the Rhodes Sculpture and Sensory Garden. Land had worked with the blind and developed a curriculum for teaching art to students with visual disabilities and art for educators and museum staff.

Patrons are asked to observe the local restrictions of masks, social distancing and general observance of cautions by cleansing hands by using the hand cleanser as you enter the BFAC to view the exhibits made available to the public. Please don’t touch the exhibits to avoid any spread of the COVID virus.

The BFAC is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and then from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m on Saturday.
