• The City of Breckenridge’s Christmas Parade will take place. This year’s theme is “A Charlie Brown Christmas.” The event is being sponsored by the Breckenridge Chamber of Commerce. If you wish to design a float, the packets are available at the Chamber’s offices and must be turned in no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 30.

Sunday, Dec. 9

• The Lakeside Baptist Church will be hosting a Christmas celebration at 5 p.m. Guests are encouraged to bring a dish and enjoy a potluck meal with the Websters as the musical guest.

Monday, Dec. 10

• Morehart Mortuary will host a Holiday Remembrance Service for those who have lost a loved one this year. The event will be held at 6 p.m.

• First United Methodist Church, located at 419 W. Walker St. Children’s Chest is open from 9 a.m. to noon on the third Saturday each month. For more information, contact Ann Heckart at FMUC, 254-559-8208.

• The Open Door at the 110 N. Live Oak. will host free GED classes 1 to 5 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday. The classes are free.

• The Rotary Club of Breckenridge meets every Tuesday from noon-1 p.m. at L&L Family Restaurant, 700 W. Walker St. For more information, visit breckenridgetxrotary.org .

• The Lions Club meets every Friday at noon at L&L Family Restaurant, 700 W. Walker Street.

• The Stephens County Retired School Personnel meets the first Thursday of every month. All retired Texas educators and support personnel are welcome. The group meets at L&L Family Restaurant at 11:30 a.m. For more information, call Jean Curtis at 254-559-8754.
