Wed, 12/06/2017 - 4:05 pm

The Woman’s Forum is slated to host their annual fundraiser event, “An Evening of Merry Music,” at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, at the Woman’s Forum. Tickets are on sale at the Chamber of Commerce for $15.

Deserts, coffee, tea and cider will be served during the scheduled entertainment, which includes performances by a group of Christmas carolers from Eastland, dressed in Charles Dickens period attire.

Additionally, a Praise and Worship group from First Baptist of Breckenridge will perform and includes several from the Junior Forum.

A representative group of the Breckenridge High School Band will perform. That will be followed by Shonda Wood singing. The evening entertainment wraps up with Wayne and Guyla White singing and leading the audience in favorite Christmas carols.

During the evening, raffle tickets for $5, will be available for prizes that include life-size snowmen, a Jeweled Christmas tree and a Christmas wreath.

Additionally, the table will be decorated with small snowmen, which also will be for sale.

Junior Forum members will help serve.

It appears to be a pleasant evening out, full of entertainment to get everyone in the Christmas spirit.

At the recent meeting of the Forum, celebrity chef, Darlene Walton, presented a program on ‘Holiday Cooking’ and gave the members lessons on how to hold a chef’s knife properly to cut  veggies. She also guided the women through the HEB Cookbook that she gave to everyone present. Walton gave helpful hints on several of the recipes in the cookbook to help get everyone prepared for the holiday cooking.

Don’t forget to get your tickets to the Dec. 7 fundraiser event, “An Evening of Merry Music,” at the Chamber of Commerce.
