There were nine categories which included salsa, ribs, margarita, Bloody Mary, chili, chicken, beans, brisket, and Dutch oven dessert. Cagle’s Cooking took first place in beans, ribs, chicken, margarita and people’s choice. Wood’s BBQ took first in salsa. Smoking Pigs took first in the Bloody Mary category. Breckenridge team Boss BBQ comprised of Doug Beaty, Rex Baker, Melissa Baker and Janet Washburn Carmichael, and brought home first place in both the brisket and Dutch oven dessert. Beaty’s son, Johnny, won first and second in the dog costume contest.
