This was part of the Higgins Homecoming event Saturday, Dec. 1, at the National Theatre hosted by Friends of Historic Breckenridge. The performers on stage, from left to right, include Robin Hitt and Tammy Higgins. Partially hidden is Wes Carter on Bass,

Jerrol and Tammy Higgins were back for the second year to perform at the National Theatre.

The event, held Saturday evening on Dec. 1, featured Tammy Higgins vocals with Jerrol Higgins on piano and supporting voices that brought a variety of Christmas carols and sing-a-long for the audience.

Tammy sang a few solo carols, which included a rendition of "Breathe of Heaven" and then she and Robin Hitt sang a duet for two or three carols. A third voice from Christina Friel joined in for the carol, with Jerrol on piano, Wes Carter on Bass guitar and Harry Talbott on drums and some bells on a few of the songs.

Also Jerrol and a Christina Friel, who is the music minister from First Baptist Church in Graham, played a piano duet of favorites from "The Nutcracker Suite."

The evening program covered a wide variety of Christmas music from different genres, with tunes back to 1861 for "I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day," an 1827 carol "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" and the carol from 1857, "We Three Kings."

There was a real homecoming atmosphere for a family night, courtesy of the FOHB, who prepped the event and atmosphere for the program.

The program ended with the popular carol recorded for the troops in 1943 by Bing Crosby, "Have Yourself a Merry Christmas."
