PK Chamber releases Mardi Gras schedule

The Possum Kingdom Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for the 22nd annual Mardi Gras PK Style which will consist of a parade, shrimp fest and many other small events on March 2.

The Mardi Gras Parade will begin at 3 p.m. on FM 2951 near Rockin’ S and will head east onto Park Road 36 until a right turn on La Villa Road where the route will end at the PK Lion’s Club.

Both businesses and individuals can enter for free but will need to fill out a entry form which can be found on the chamber’s website. The form can be turned in person to the chamber building, by email at› PKchamber@possumkingdomlake.com›or by fax at 940-779-4631.

The shrimp fest will begin at 6 p.m. at the Possum Kingdom Chamber of Commerce building. The event will have all you can eat boiled shrimp and fixings, live Cajun music from Jean-Pierre and the Zydeco Angels, a costume contest for children and adults, and awards for the best business and individual floats.

Tickets for the event are $25 for adults, $15 for seniors 62 and older, $10 for children age 3 to 10 and free toddlers who are 2 and younger.›

The Possum Kingdom Chamber of Commerce has also transformed into a Mardi Gras store until March 2. People can buy throw beads, float decorations, clothing and much more for the event. The store is open during normal chamber business hours and all day on Mardi Gras.

Other Events:

The Possum Kingdom Women’s Club will be holding a pancake breakfast from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Mardi Gras morning at the Charlie’s Angels Building. The meal will cost $7 for adults and $4 for children under 10. Any Possum Kingdom VFD, EMS or law enforcement member can eat for free.›
