Rotary Club makes history with first Hispanic female President
The Rotary Club of Breckenridge introduced Yuri Huntington as the new President of the club, making her the first Hispanic female President in the club’s history. The introductory ceremony took place at the Rusty Rooster restaurant.
The incoming president opened the ceremony with a welcome speech to Rotary Club members and honorary guest, Roger and Linda Paschal. Paschal serves as the incoming District Governor of Rotary International District 5790.
The event also features a passage of the gavel used by Presidents to begin meetings as outgoing President Johnathon Newton passed the gavel to Huntington.
Newton, also received was honored at the event for a year of dedicated service to the club.
Huntington will begin her year as President in July and is looking to lead the club into the future.
