The Swenson Memorial Museum has a restored Sinclair Gasoline pump on display. The pump was restored by Kim Parsons of Abilene. Afterwards, he painted it green and white for the Breckenridge Buckaroos.

There were two Sinclair Filling Stations (as they were called during the 1920s and 1930s) in Breckenridge between 1914 and 1924. One Sinclair Filling Station was located where the old Eckard store now sits, at 500 W. Walker and was run by a Mr. Clayton.

The other Sinclair Filling Station was located where Baxley’s Auto Lube now is located, at 320 W. Walker. It was run by Fats Magness, who had five sons who played for the Bucks, with two sons on the 1929 Co-Championship team.

There were two Sinclair Gasoline pumps and the second restored pump will be donated to the West Texas Rehabilitation Center for their annual fundraising event.

The Swenson Memorial Museum also has a window display of programs from the numerous appearances of the Barnum and Bailey Circus, the Hagenbeck-Wallace Circus, the John Robinson Circus and the Cole Brothers Circus.

The circus groups traveled to the rural communities by train, to haul all the animals, performers, equipment and the large tent that would be erected for the circus acts to perform for the local residents, during the decade of the 1920s.
