Gas

Gas prices in Texas have fallen 8 cents during the past week, bringing gas to $2.15 per gallon, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey. This compares with the national average, which fell 10 cents, bringing the average gallon of gas across the country to $2.43 per gallon. On the state level, gas prices are 10 cents lower compared to this time last year and 34 cents lower than this time last month. Nationally, gas prices are almost 3 cents lower compared to this time last year and 31 cents lower than this time last month.

Weather

Weather this week was chilly and dry to start out. Rain, however, came at the end of the week and will continue into the first part of the weekend. Then the weather will slowly heat up as we get through next week, with the weather mostly dry, except next Thursday, Dec. 13, which is projected to have some showers.

Breckenridge High School puts on play

The Breckenridge High School will be putting on High School Musical Jr. this weekend, at 7 p.m. Thursday, Friday, Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday. Tickets will be $5. The play will be directed by BHS theater teacher Callie Stenson. For a full list of participation in the play, check out the Breckenridge American next week for coverage.

Parade

The Breckenridge Christmas Parade will be at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 8 down Walker Street and will feature floats and cars to celebrate the holidays. This year’s theme is a Charlie Brown Christmas and will be sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce.
