Gas

Gas prices in Texas have fallen 8 cents during the past week, bringing gas to $2.15 per gallon, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey. This compares with the national average, which fell 10 cents, bringing the average gallon of gas across the country to $2.43 per gallon. On the state level, gas prices are 10 cents lower compared to this time last year and 34 cents lower than this time last month. Nationally, gas prices are almost 3 cents lower compared to this time last year and 31 cents lower than this time last month.

Weather

Weather last week was chilly and dry to start out. Rain, however, came at the end of the week and will continued into the first part of the weekend. The weather for the remainder of the week will heat up with things staying mostly dry, except Thursday, Dec. 13, which is projected to have some showers.

Breckenridge High

School puts on play

The Breckenridge High School put on High School Musical Jr. last weekend, at 7 p.m. Thursday, Friday, Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday. Tickets were $5. The play was directed by BHS theater teacher Callie Stenson. For a full list of participation in the play, check out the Breckenridge American website.

Parade

The Breckenridge Christmas Parade was scheduled for 6:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 8 down Walker Street but was cancelled due to weather. The parade, originally supposed to be themed a Charlie Brown Christmas and sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce, will not be rescheduled.
