Stephens County Sheriff's Office

For the previous week, the sheriff’s office had 36 calls for service and served 4 sets of civil papers.  Calls for service include but are not limited to: 911 calls, proactive contacts, non-emergency calls, 

Monday, Aug. 21

• While investigating a family disturbance on CR 206, a 26-year-old male was arrested for a warrant out of Garza County related to possession of marijuana.

• A deputy transported an inmate to a prison near Abilene.

Tuesday, Aug. 22

• The sheriff’s office teamed up with an ATF K9 to help them obtain a search warrant on a toolbox belonging to a convicted felon who was suspected of concealing multiple firearms and ammunition.  After an alert on the toolbox by the K9, the search warrant was served and four firearms were confiscated, along with hundreds of rounds of ammunition and over a dozen 30 round magazines to an AR-15 and an AK-47.  On the morning of the Aug. 23, four warrants of arrest were obtained and served on the suspect for unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.

Wednesday, Aug. 23

• A deputy responded to an unattended death of a 59 year old male in his home on E. Gaddis Street.  No foul play is suspected.  Prior and current medical conditions existed. 

Sunday, Aug. 27

• A burglary of a habitation report was taken at a home on CR 213.  Cash and coins were taken from an unlocked house.

Wednesday, Aug. 16

• A 33-year-old male was arrested on a Stephens county warrant for motion to  revoke on original charge of DWI with a previous bond amount. 

•A 57-year-old female was arrested on a Stephens county warrant for motion to revoke on original charge of theft of property greater than or equal to $50 less than $500. Bond was set at $1000.

Thursday, Aug. 17

• An 18-year-old male was arrested on site for a Stephens county warrant  for no drivers license. Fine amount is $253.50.

Friday, Aug. 17

•A 25-year-old male was arrested on two Stephens County warrants for possession of a controlled substance greater than 4 grams less than 400 grams and greater than 1 gram less than 4 grams, and two Breckenridge municipal warrants for possession of drug paraphernalia.

• A 34-year-old male was arrested on a Stephens County warrant for motion to revoke on original charge of theft of property greater than $750 less than $2500.

• A 63-year-old male was arrested on a Stephens County warrant for licensing of dogs. Fine $347.10.

Sunday, Aug. 20

• A 57-year-old male was arrested on site for violation of protective order.

Monday, Aug. 21

•A 42-year-old female was arrested on site for public intoxication.

Tuesday, Aug. 22

• A 62-year-old male was arrested on site for assault(family violence) causing bodily injury.

• A person was transported to a mental health hospital in Abilene.
