The Pride of Breckenridge Buckaroo band members celebrated the upcoming holiday Monday, Dec. 19 at First Baptist Church of Breckenridge. Band Booster President Carrie Duncan organized a Christmas party for the high school band students, with numerous other band booster parents volunteering their time to decorate and provide a safe environment for the teenagers, overseeing games and gift distribution.

Paula Roach, owner of Ol’ Timers Diner, catered the event. Roach provided a full baked potato buffet, offering large potatoes, a variety of toppings and smoked brisket. In addition to dinner, several desserts were available.

Home n Hart Bakery supplied “decorate your own cookie” kits for the students, who were able to decorate them at their respective tables.

Van and Jennifer Moore provided their photo-booth business, Snap Joy, at no cost to the students. Those present were able use Christmas props such as hats, signs and glasses to have photo booth photos taken with. Photos were printed on-site, with the option of additionally having the photos emailed or text if requested.

Santa Claus was also in attendance and available for photos. He assisted in distributing numbered tickets for band members to choose from, in order to select the matching numbered gift from under the decorated Christmas tree. The students sat in a large circle and participated in a “White Elephant Christmas” game. A gift was provided to every student in attendance.
