BISD explains accountability grades

Wed, 09/18/2019 - 11:00 am

In their regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, Sept. 9, the Breckenridge Independent School Board discussed their 2018-2019 Accountability Results.

The school district received a ‘B’ on their Accountability grade but was displeased with the individual scores.

The individual schools and district were graded on three domains; student achievement, school progress and closing the gaps. According to the Texas Education Agency, student achievement shows how much students know and are able to do at the end of the school year, school progress shows how students perform over time and how that growth compares to similar schools, and closing the gaps tells the district how well different populations of students in the district are performing.
