BISD plans for improvement

Wed, 09/25/2019 - 11:00 am

Breckenridge Independent School District Interim Superintendent, Earl Jarrett, and Chief Learning Officer, Molly Johnson, have a plan to improve the accountability grades for BISD.

Interim Superintendent Jarrett stated that when he came to Breckenridge just a month ago, “There were things that were being done right and there were some things that we need to improve on,” said Jarrett, “there are systemic issues—they way you correct systemic issues is by putting processes and procedures in place that over time will make the appropriate corrections.”

Jarrett explained that much of their accountability score was based on the STAR test and how the students did on that. One of the ways that the schools have already started to improve is looking at data.
