• The 11th Annual La-Mancha Cook-Off will be held at the La Mancha Ranch on Lake Leon 402 County Road 567 Eastland, Texas. Cook-ff proceeds will benefit local animal shelters and rescues. For more information on the competition, please call 254-647-3651

Sunday, Dec. 9

• The Lakeside Baptist Church will be hosting a Christmas celebration at 5 p.m. Guests are encouraged to bring a dish and enjoy a potluck meal, with the Websters as the musical guest.

Monday, Dec. 10

• Morehart Mortuary will host a Holiday Remembrance Service for those who have lost a loved one this year. The event will be held at 6 p.m.

• The Open Door at the 110 N. Live Oak. will host free GED classes 1 to 5 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday. The classes are free.

• The Lions Club meets every Friday at noon at L&L Family Restaurant, 700 W. Walker Street.
