Breckenridge economy shows signs of strength

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced he will send cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose taxing districts $890.5 million in local sales tax allocations for November, 4 which is eight percent more than in November 2019. These allocations are based on sales made in September by businesses that report tax monthly, and on sales made in July, August and September by quarterly filers.

Across the state cities, on average, have seen a 6.1% increase from Nov. 2019 and a .6% increase year-to-date. Counties have had a 1.9% increase from 2019 last year and a downward trend of 1.9% year to date.

Breckenridge shows signs of a strong recovery as they will receive a net payment of $176,091.05. This is 43.84% higher than this time last year. Year-to-date the city has received $1,690.717.06 compared to last year of $1,575,324.78. This is an increase of 7.32%.

Woodson will see check for $744.45. Last year this time it was $685.90 which is an increase of 8.53%. For the year Woodson has a city sales and use tax return of $10,778.59 which is 58.82% or $6,786.33 better than last year.

Albany came out ahead this month compared to last year by .39%. They will see a check for $40,378.99. Year-to-date, Albany is still 13.59% lower than last year with revenue at $422.294.85.
