Breckenridge economy, surrounding towns doing well overall

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced he will send cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose taxing districts $908.7 million in local sales tax allocations for August, 3.6 percent more than in August 2019. These allocations are based on sales made in June by businesses that report tax monthly and on sales made in April, May and June by quarterly filers.

Widespread social distancing requirements were more relaxed across the state in June than in previous months.

Breckenridge received a net payment of $183,854.64, and increase of 16.59 percent from last year. Year to date Breckenridge has received $1,235,435.32 compared to $1,170,169.89 last year, and increase of 5.57 percent.

Woodson saw an increase of 47.79 percent with a net payment of $979.82. This year they received $7,499.83 compared to last year of $4,894.00

Albany received payment of $41,014.48. That is 2.04 percent less than last year this time of $41,871.73. Year to date Albany has received $313,392.65 compared to $375,842.93 this time last year.
